LOUIS-PIERRE DESEINE
LOUIS-PIERRE DESEINE
(Paris 1749-1822)
Portrait of a young girl
around 1790
terracotta, 12 x 8.66 x 7.48 in
Deseine explicitly mentions the portrait of the Dauphin […]
The head of our young girl bears a striking resemblance to that of the Dauphin—almost as if they were brother and sister—particularly in the overall treatment of the head and the bob-like hairstyle of wavy locks low, as is evident from a side-by-side comparison of the two likenesses.
