Stylistic features, the rigorous naturalistic attention devoted to the depiction of the animal, and a precision of execution worthy of a sculptor highly skilled in metal casting make it possible—based on appropriate comparisons—to convincingly attribute the statuette of the sow to the oeuvre of Antonio Susini, a pupil and later collaborator of Giambologna.
